Continental Grip Tips
It is crucial to have a perfectly aligned Continental grip for pronation drills and, of course, for the eventual final serve.
Even a 1-millimeter deviation from the ideal hand placement and alignment on the handle can cause discomfort or pain and may hinder proper pronation.

Many of you may be familiar with the term "hammer grip." However, it's important to note that when holding a tennis racket, your hand needs to be more diagonally aligned to the handle, rather than perpendicular as with a hammer.
If you experience discomfort or pain during basic pronation drills such as Pronation Tapping and Live Ball Pronation warm-up drills, perform these drills gently and experiment with slightly different hand positions and handle alignments until you can comfortably perform pronation.
It's also important to remember that if you've never served with even half the pronation and have always used a Forehand grip instead of a Continental grip, it may take several weeks to a few months before you feel comfortable with the Continental grip.
