Day 1

Day 1 Drills:

  • throwing balls from the service line plus one step back - 3 balls from a position, then step back. Note your results so that you can compare then at the end of this challenge. Throw max 50 balls.
  • swing the bag - learn how to do it right!
  • pronation drill #1 - warming up pronation / forearm
  • variation 1 - just tapping the ball down + bouncing up
  • pronation drill #2 - the eventual goal is live ball pronation - difficult at first but once you master it it’s great for a warm up
  • common mistakes, hand only, contact too high, contact too close, not pushing through but hitting from the arm, cheating with pronation - meaning opening the racket face early
  • pronation drill #3 - from service line into service box inside out, after the bounce, gently, technique, control pronation
